Hopefully. I hear that you and I are going to be sister-in-laws soon, sort of.
That we will be, although I don’t know how far away that’s going to be—George and I have been far too busy to plan a wedding, and we’ve yet to receive our week from the Ministry… I’m not sure what’s happening about that.
Victoria is three months old. I hope that you are right about that. I haven’t exactly been the best wife.
Oh, how cute! I’ll bet she’s beautiful. Yeah, well… everyone makes mistakes, don’t they? Perhaps you can look past it.
I’m coming off maternity leave. My husband has been away for awhile but he’s back no so maybe, just maybe it’ll be better then i’m thinking.
Maternity leave? Oh, I wasn’t aware you’d had a baby—congratulations! How old is the little one? I’m sure you and your husband will figure something out that works for you both.
I’ve been alright. I get to go back to work soon and by then I should understand exactly what you mean because i’m pretty sure that i’ll be exhausted all of the time.
You’ve been off work? Oh, why’s that—and what makes you think you’re going to be exhausted all the time? You’ve handled your workload just fine in the past, haven’t you?
What’s wrong Katie?
Oh, nothing’s wrong, really—busy hours of training and babysitting thrown into the mix is catching up with me, that’s all. I suppose I’ll need to get used to it at some point.
I haven’t seen you around for quite some time, though that could be because I’ve been shutting myself out again… how have you been?
Or I’ll casually bring up the topic, and somehow find a way to ask her why she buys all these fire crackers… Or follow her home, whichever. -snickers-
Don’t follow her home! That would be considered harassment, and you’ll get yourself into trouble! You know what? Perhaps you just shouldn’t say anything about it. Let her buy her fireworks—though you should add some extra warnings to the labels, just to be safe.
-nods- Definitely, but it’s lucky that she’s out of the terrible twos stage though. That’s such a prickly anti-sharing age. Oh, you said you were training, which team are you playing for?
Oh, I don’t know how I’d manage if she was in her terrible twos. I’d definitely need someone to help me out if that was the case. I am, yes! I’m playing for the Holyhead Harpies. It’s only very recent, but I’m loving it.
-conjures up a cup for her as well- Here, you look like you could use this as much as I can. Oh no, babysitting duty? What age? The best time, in my opinion, is in the infant stage, they’re always so sleepy then….well, unless they’re colic.
Oh, thank you. -takes the cup and has a sip- Unfortunately, this kid isn’t in the infant stage. The girl I’ve been babysitting is four, which isn’t too bad, I suppose—she’s not too much work, and isn’t at the bratty age yet. I could be dealing with worse, that’s for sure.
Caffeine helps. -sips on her own cup- Something keeping you up?
I should probably give that a go, yes. I suppose I was too tired to even think of that. Oh, not really. It’s just been a busy week with training and whatnot, and along with that, I’ve been doing a fair bit of babysitting. Very exhausting.
